Thoroughly enjoyed attending the Rutgers University Sas Eof Senior Recognition Ceremony this evening, Wednesday, May 4, 2016 to honor the Class of 2016 Educational Opportunity Fund (EOF) Scholars graduating with degrees from Rutgers University New Brunswick at the School of Arts and Sciences; Mason Gross School of the Arts; Rutgers Business School; School of Management and Labor Relations; and Edward J. Bloustein School of Planning and Public Policy.
I fervently believe that the EOF Program changes lives through access, opportunity, and educational equity for first-generation, under-represented, at-risk students.
From this evening's student speakers who kept my face dripping with tears as they recounted there life's journey to overcome and persevere through socio-economic obstacles and hardships leading to college degree attainment; to the motivational and inspiring speeches by the Faculty Honorees and EOF Administrators; to the shenanigans in the photobooth; to the wonderful meal and fellowship with Rutgers' finest caliber of students & staff; I am in awe of the monumental success of this graduating class who will undoubtedly pay it forward to assist others.
So privileged to see first hand the Return On Investment (ROI) of these future lawyers, doctors, educators, public health professionals, social workers, performing artists, mathematicians, researchers, psychologists, and so much more whose admissions and EOF applications crossed my desk at Rutgers University-New Brunswick Undergraduate Admissions about 4 or so years ago!
So #RutgersProud that the Office of Student Access & Educational Equity/EOF at #RutgersUniversity - New Brunswick allowed me to share in this momentous occasion along with Faculty, Administrators and EOF Staff.
I love ❤ being a #HigherEducation Professional! We always #ReachHigher at #Rutgers University! #RutgersIsRevolutionary! #Rutgers250! Positivity, love and light. Stay blessed!
