A super fun opportunity to view Mars will come in late July 2018, when the bright moon sweeps past it. On July 27th, when the Earth sweeps between the sun and Mars, bringing Mars into opposition in our sky - we'll also be sweeping betwen the sun and moon at full moon. In fact, at this July 2018 full moon, we'll go directly between them, creating the longest total lunar eclipse in the century
