Food: Nasi Lemak Ayam Kari
(Coconut Milk Rice with Curry Chicken)
Nasi Lemak is one of the national dishes of Malaysia. The rice is cooked with coconut milk and pandan leaves infusing a wonderfully unique aroma into the rice. It is traditionally sold as a takeaway food which is wrapped into a pyramid shape using banana leaf and old newspaper.
A typical Nasi Lemak comes with sambal (chili paste), kacang (toasted peanuts), telur rebus (hard boiled egg), ikan bilis goreng (fried anchovies) , and finishes off with few slices of timun (fresh cucumber) .
The modern variety allows customers to add on additional sides such as sambal sotong (chili squid), ayam goreng (fried chicken), ayam rendang (dry curry chicken), telur mata kerbau (sunny side up), kerang (cockles), etc.
It is certainly a must go food in Malaysia as the awesomeness of it will make you return for more!!!
