What makes a meal โ€œhealthyโ€? ๐Ÿง
๐Ÿ””LEFT: grilled chicken and asparagus with feta (Protein + veggies) Maybe satisfying. ๐Ÿ— ๐Ÿƒ ๐Ÿ””RIGHT: Natural beef burger with cheese, a bun, and fries. (Protein + carbs + fats) Definitely satisfying. ๐Ÿ” ๐ŸŸ ๐Ÿ˜‹The chicken and asparagus might be lower calorie, but when you break it down the burger is actually a more balanced meal ๐Ÿ˜‚ It has all the macronutrients. ๐Ÿ™Œ Does this mean I eat burgers and fries every week? No. I donโ€™t crave it! And lean protein and veggies make me feel great. But I donโ€™t think of a burger as this big scary thing to tackle anymore. When I first started tackling my โ€œfear foodsโ€ I had to literally talk myself through it, โ€œItโ€™s just protein, carbs and fat. Red meat provides protein and iron. The bun and potatoes provides essential carbohydrates. The cheese provides fats and calcium.โ€ Not that bad when you think of it like that ๐Ÿ˜‰

This Bolognese sauce so loved in UK is nothing at all to do with Bologna, they donโ€™t have it there, itโ€™s a bastardised version of Sugo which is made with proper meat not mince meat and is a world away in texture and flavour. Ahem, sadly I canโ€™t help myself, I bloody love it, especially in Lasagna so I guess that makes me a bit of a pleb. so what do i use my fitbit for if i donโ€™t count calories or macros? well, i use it for everything else, such as my sleep cycles, heart rate, calories burned, water intake, distance, steps, and exercise tracking! so why donโ€™t i count calories or calculate macros? well, i actually used to but it became so obsessive and stressful, especially when i would go out to eat. though i still ate healthy, i would get so angry and upset (thanks to my ocd) if i couldnโ€™t log it and the guilt would set in. also, if i felt like i was eating too much i would literally starve myself because i was so obsessed with whether i would eat more, less, or just the perfect amount of food at the end of the day. thatโ€™s not a healthy way to live. so a few months ago i put a stop to it and now i eat freely; however i am always aware of what i put into my body and nutritional content of the food and that is enough for me! iโ€™m not saying that i will never count calories or calculate macros again, but for now i feel that not doing so is the best for me at this time!

letโ€™s say you eat 2000 calories a day to look your fluffy self and sustain the way u look (which probably No Bueno how you look) but for argument sake letโ€™s just say.. so to lose weight all u have to do is reduce 100-400 calories a day from the initial 2000 and youโ€™ll start loosing weight.. but hereโ€™s the thing.. how do you know if itโ€™s either fat or muscle youโ€™re losing? .. well for one.. do you look muscular and tight.. or you look skinny but flabby? You can literally eat all your calories in one meal or split it up in twelve meals and still loose weight.. thing is if you eat more constantly the body will spare the muscle which gets turned so much quicker into energy than the rate fat turns into energy. Why? Cuz the body being a survival machine it values fat more than it does muscle.. cuz you know in case there is a zombie apocalypse and the world runs out of food your fat will sustain you. So split up your meals cuz the more you eat the leaner and harder you look. Youโ€™re welcome๐Ÿ˜‰
