Because even though you'd love to live a "carbs are life" lifestyle (and let's be real - they ain't talkin' about fruit and veg when they say that), your body rebels and says, ummm, no. I lived my entire 20's with painful periods, and having period pains during every single BM. IE, every day - thinking it was normal! I lived on naproxen sodium tablets during my periods, and if I didn't take them, the pains would literally drop me to the ground. And my symptoms are on the less severe end of the spectrum. .

I had my endometriosis removal in March 2017,and in April started eating keto (for weight loss, only because I wanted to see what it was all about). My first cycle came and went and I didn't have to touch a muscle relaxer. My surgery worked! End of financial year came along, work got stressful, we got placed more remotely (AKA NOOOOO grocery stores - real talk, we were staying in roadhouses for so long our groceries ran out) and counter meals became a staple. Cue next cycle - all of my pains came back. WTF?! All that for nothing? Until I started seeing women in the keto groups talking about PCOS and their experience with healing, finally being able to lose weight, and for MANY - fertility after they'd been told they will never be able to bear children.

So as much as I'd love to eat pasta and bread daily.... I can't. 🤷🏼‍♀️ It hurts. Literally. I wish it didn't, but it does. These last two months confirmed that, and all the pain came back. It's not worth it. I still can't believe that I thought shitting with pain was normal. 🤦🏼‍♀️ Eating grain free takes that away. Yes, I can generally have one meal every once in a while with grains and be okay, but only every one in a while. Sad day, but I'd rather not be in pain. 😊

But until the next #idgaf moment, no wheat, no rice, no quinoa (still need to experiment more with this one), no grains. And I'm okay with that. I just wish people didn't care so much about what people eat and judge them for it. Find what works for you, and stick with it, and fuck the rest. If you've got energy, your workouts are banging, and you feel good on the inside... It's really no one's business.

Had some leftover cream cheese frosting, so I threw it on my carrot cake cookies. Honestly, I’m not complaining. 🐷 Maybe next time I’ll get into this whole piping the frosting on the inside. I just feel this way you get frosting with every bite. 🤷‍♂️ 👨🏻‍🍳

Had chicken (fake) tacos at Boston Pizza the other day.
When you're Mexican 🇲🇽 these are not tacos, these are lies.

How to make the most bomb scrambled eggs ever:
1. Whisk together however many eggs you want with a tiny tiny tiny bit of water
2. Put a some oil (olive, coconut, avocado, grape seed.. whatever suits you) in a small pan
3. Turn on the heat to low. Make sure it’s not on simmer, no one has enough time for that
4. Sip your coffee, feed your pet, occasionally stir the pan, and wait patiently for the BEST scrambled eggs in the world.

This big guy was all giggles sharing a chocolate chip cookie...homemade by yours truly! 😍

What makes a meal “healthy”? 🧐
🔔LEFT: grilled chicken and asparagus with feta (Protein + veggies) Maybe satisfying. 🍗 🍃 🔔RIGHT: Natural beef burger with cheese, a bun, and fries. (Protein + carbs + fats) Definitely satisfying. 🍔 🍟 😋The chicken and asparagus might be lower calorie, but when you break it down the burger is actually a more balanced meal 😂 It has all the macronutrients. 🙌 Does this mean I eat burgers and fries every week? No. I don’t crave it! And lean protein and veggies make me feel great. But I don’t think of a burger as this big scary thing to tackle anymore. When I first started tackling my “fear foods” I had to literally talk myself through it, “It’s just protein, carbs and fat. Red meat provides protein and iron. The bun and potatoes provides essential carbohydrates. The cheese provides fats and calcium.” Not that bad when you think of it like that 😉
