Sunrise Runs | Memory Floods
Life seems to speed up as we age. Days seem shorter.
Years feel like months.
Hours become breaths.
But if we’re lucky, we are stopped in a moment and reminded of what life is worth.
I recall countless nights with my family watching racing at Asheville Motor Speedway. Being from Asheville (Nascar Country, North Carolina, The South, ‘Shiners Country), this was simply part of spending time as a family. My parents still tell about when I was a baby and gave up my paci/binky by “giving it to the race car drivers”. I still remember the sound, the smell, and parking in grass fields. I remeber loving to watch the Mini’s racing.
I went by the memorial the other day while running and just took a little time to appreciate it. Not just for it’s 2Tone vibe, but for all of those memories. ———
