The Bent Row makes one own the hip hinge and #plank while giving balance of pulling with pushing. The High Pull teaches how to create power through the hips and deceleration too! The #cleans show accuracy of movement to help make sure reps are just being slopped by, but doing with precision and purpose. The Rotational Press brings in other planes of movement, but #core stability to ensure the bracing during the burpee is being reinforced while working on the mobility of the hips.

Ok so here's the thing I hope you will take away from my travels outside of the amazing experiences. I hope you'll see that you can't out-train a bad diet. My diet has been absolutely horrendous for 3 and a half straight weeks. Although it hasn't completely diminished all my gains, it definitely has had an impact. Less vegetables. More carbohydrates in forms of rice, breads (prata) and sugar filled deserts has overridden any attempts to exercise it away. The truth is that exercise is a major part of health, but what you consume and how much you consume plays an even larger part. I will get on my @Fitbit scale when I return home in a day or two and it will be judge and jury. But no need to be upset or down on yourself for things you knowingly did and consciously chose. I chose this. I chose to indulge. But I also choose to do something about it when I return home. Here's the great thing though... not allowing yourself to get de-conditioned while traveling is key. At a minimum your conditioning will be good and when you get back to your regular food habits, your body should respond accordingly. My @ultimatesandbag has served me well and I am improving my accuracy. My @setforset 20lb Steel Mace has been good. I also carried my 10lb @onnit Mace. This workout with my #DVRT Ultimate Sandbag was the best yet. I managed to hit 5 - 6 reps in 15 seconds with a 45 second test for 10 rounds. I'm getting closer to being ready to submit my test out. Looking forward to becoming a fully certified DVRT Coach. .

Getting great results from #functionaltraining exercises is largely about the details of the #movement . We often get caught up in just wanting to do the exercise and miss the important parts that make it so effective.
A great example is our #ultimatesandbag Lateral Slide #deadlift with @valslide . This looks like a simple exercise but many people miss small things that make it work so well. Such as not pulling the handles of the Ultimate Sandbag apart to engage the #core and lats so you have a moving #plank . Sliding back or at an angle should compensation of the hip and #corestrength . Lastly not having tension in BOTH feet to prevent excessive motion.

This #DVRT exercise teaches frontal plane stability, has all the #glutes firing like they do in life, both producing and resisting force, and integration of so many of the body's natural chains it is one of the best ways to progress #deadlifts . Thanks to @drjohnrusin for the informative explanation, in how to better hack the deadlift, with this pre-activation drill.
I thought I would give it a try. I chose to DL with the Burley USB though, focusing on the eccentric load, pulling that bag a part for lat(core) activation. The USB and the pull of the sand towards earth, keeps the nervous system asking you, wtf?

LaughStyleでは様々な道具を使ってトレーニングやコンディショニングを行います。
今回はサンドバッグを紹介したいと思います。

ケトルベルと並んでファンクショナルトレーニングによく使われる道具。
取っ手が様々な場所についた砂入りのバッグで、似たような道具として水を使ったものもあります。

デッドリフトなどの立位の状態で使うこともあれば、体幹トレーニング、ストレッチなどで使うこともできます。

鉄の重りとは違い、砂がバッグの中で動くので不安定であり、様々な方向に負荷がかかる仕様になっています。
そのため身体が勝手にバランスをとろうとする機構を上手く利用して姿勢や動作、フォームを改善することができます。

また持ち方や姿勢を変えるだけで負荷やチャレンジ度を変えることができ、レベルに合わせて指導ができるので、どのレベルの方でも段階的に機能的な動作を身につけることができます。

スポーツなどの専門的な練習をする前にこのようなファンクショナルトレーニングを行って身体機能を改善しておくと、より普段の練習が効率的で実りのあるものになります。

What if we started looking at #strength more in context of how we #move and not about how much we can move/lift? What if Strength was really about how well we can move in multiple planes, how well we resist forces, how mobile and how stable we can be? Would that change the way you train? I look at that above movement and I see strength, stability and mobility all rolled up into one movement. One the things I am proudest about with #DVRT is the fact we can make complex #movement concepts available to coaches at such a lower cost and with superior results. How we look at building lifts/chops is a great example. A powerful way to build #corestrength , we use our #ultimatesandbag , core strap, and @trxtraining to get better #core engagement than just using traditional cables or pulleys. That is largely because we can pull apart the Ultimate Sandbag and grip helps us activate lats and core to a higher degree. Plus we activate both sides of our core leading to better move to, core activation, and avoid many of the movement compensations that people run into trying to perform such #functionaltraining exercises. Being on the road so much I get worried about staying on top of my #fitnessgoals because my training is not just about performance or looks but with four spinal surgeries the only way I keep being healthy and capable of doing things I love.
