We hosted the lucky winners of the naming competition, Marian and Phil Bevan, plus the Air NZ Green Team and Nic Toki DOC Threatened Species Ambassador. In the photo is local kaumātua Edward Ellison, who blessed Tumanako - during the blessing in the Richdale Observatory an albatross hovered behind Edward, it was an emotional and awe inspiring moment for all there! DOC Ranger Jim Watts took the visitors out onto the albatross reserve; they were certainly speechless when they returned.
