What keeps us from starting?
For years, my lack of confidence was based in a belief that I had to be perfect at something. I wanted all the rewards of struggle and practice without actually having to do that... cause that was scary. What if I looked stupid?
No one really *likes* to be a beginner at something, especially as an adult. We should be confident, well-versed and well-practiced by now. Being a beginner is scary because we might look stupid (actually like 99% of the time we will) and we might fail. .
The biggest barrier we face when it comes to starting something new is ourselves. We want to be good, we want to be impressive and we want it now.
It takes a bit of humble pie to be a beginner and realizing that progress is more important than perfection. .
You’d never tell a kid who just took her first steps to hurry up and run already! Because we know there’s much to learn through practice and through failure. .
The Upper Body Badass Challenge is going to help you practice and get some wins with upper body movements, so that even if you’re a beginner, you can feel confident going to the gym. And if you’re not a beginner but you don’t always know what the heck you’re doing, you’ll learn some valuable skills to take into your training. .
