The OAF Paris 2017 Curated Space is a tribute to renowned gallerist and collector Daniel Cordier (b. 1920). Cordier joined the French Resistance during World War II and afterwards, started to write, paint and collect art, including pieces by the likes of Dubuffet, Rauschenberg and Tinguely. In 1956, and over a period of eight years, he opened galleries in Paris, Frankfurt and New York. In 1989, Cordier donated over 500 works to Centre Pompidou, including a selection of art brut.
The OAF exhibition includes artworks by Pierre Bettencourt, Fred Deux, Georgik, Eugène Gabritschevsky, Augustin Lesage, Ursula and Friedrich Schröder-Sonnenstern among others.
