Michael Fauerbach began his artistic studies at the @svanyc as an #illustration major. When photography’s popularity reduced the demand for illustration, he migrated to #fineart, but never lost his interest in trying to capture the #essence of the different places in which he lived.
Although he worked in different mediums the constant theme of his work was the physical environment in which he lived, how man related to and changed it, and how, in turn, the environment affected the inhabitants.
This work was painted while Michael and his wife Ellen lived on #DuaneStreet in #Tribeca, which was a busy commercial area for the wholesale distribution of butter, cheese and eggs. At that time there were very few amenities such as grocery stores and places to eat. Time was at a premium with trucks lined up to load or unload and the workers took their break when they could squeeze in a few minutes.
This piece, "Lunch Break" painted by Michael Fauerbach will be featured in the Live Auction at For Arts' Sake tomorrow, Saturday, July 15 at the Roxbury Arts Group. The event opens to the public at 3:00p - get there early to #bidhighbidoften in support of the Roxbury Arts Group and our mission to make the arts an integral part of life in the Catskills. #art #auction #fundraiser #michaelfauerbach #roxburyny #delco #delawarecountyny #catskills #catskillmountains #greatwesterncatskills #upstateny #iloveny
