Hi there, I’m Amanda. Although my day job is to market and communicate like a pro, I found myself feeling the need to connect with others in a different, more intimate way. I felt compelled to share my story with hope that it might help & inspire others (even though I knew that meant being uncomfortably vulnerable). So, awhile back, I started a blog & Insta account called Sequins & Soul to share my own journey of learning to shine at my brightest and honor my souls-calling (+encourage you to do the same). ✨
The reality is, I spent a good part of my life dimming my light and blatantly ignoring the whispers of my soul. A few years ago, I decided to make a few changes; some big, some small, but all with the end goal of living my best life and shining bright in mind. One of the biggest changes I made during this time was the decision to give up alcohol. As a single, social, 30-something who'd come to identify with the 'party girl' side of my persona; cutting out booze was a bold move. But I did it, and it's been one of the most impactful decisions I've ever made. ✨
I’m really passionate about sharing this part of my journey because I've found that my story resonates with more people than I'd ever imagined. Yesterday, I wrote what I consider to be one of my most vulnerable pieces. In it I share why I fully embrace and appreciate the role drinking has played in my journey. As silly as it sounds, I'm grateful for those experiences as I believe the obstacles we face in life are actually detours in the right direction. ✨
Most importantly, I wrote about an epiphany I’d reached about the deep underlying purpose drinking had in my life. Are you ready? I realized that drinking for me was less about trying to 'fit in' and more about avoiding standing out. It was a way for me to dim the light that I was too afraid to shine (if this resonates with you, find the link to the post in my bio). ✨
