Just came across a vid that isn’t particularly recent, but worth a watch anyway. Massive respect to Gracie Davis for being honest about steroid use. People may say mean stuff about her, but I can’t hate on a person living with such honesty. Check out her video with @megsquats Meg deserves a lot of credit for addressing something so avoided. For me, the most interesting take away was Gracie talking about the doses bikini models take. Not everyone is taking as much as Gracie, the gains and sides won’t be so obvious in women on low doses. It’s unlikely women making money selling booty workout plans will reveal the secret of their success if it’s an anabolic agent. Gracie doesn’t talk about others, besides the “gym bros” who got her in to it, but it’s worth noting that a CrossFit team operates from her gym. Just like many other forms of exercise, CrossFit practitioners have a vested interest in promoting the sport as the best form of exercise, so they’re unlikely to admit to drug use in the sport. Although, the video does briefly address a female CrossFit athlete, Charis Chan, who was caught taking a steroid Gracie says women should never touch - trenbolone. Drugs aren’t a CrossFit problem, they’re a problem in all sports and in every other avenue of society. If physical appearance or performance are linked to status, prestige and income, you can be sure many people will seek and hide their advantage.
