I am a huge Counting Crows fan. Today’s Music and Cocktails post looks at the song “Colorblind” from 1999’s This Desert Life album. Does the song have a deeper meaning for lead singer Adam Duritz? Maybe. In any event, its lyrics are such that we can all relate to them in a very personal way, very much like the way we could relate to Sylvia Plath’s poem “Mirror” from Monday’s post. Today’s cocktail is a riff on an Old-Fashioned with ingredients that are meant to draw out certain elements in one another, in an unfolding kind of way. Follow the link in my profile to read more. Cheers everyone. Happy Wednesday! 🐪🎶⚫️⚪️
Folded and Unfolding
2 oz Catskill Provisions Honey Rye whiskey (infused with rosemary)
¼ oz rosemary honey simple
¼ oz Yellow Chartreuse
1 dash Krogstad Aquavit
Build the drink in an old-fashioned glass in the order of the ingredients listed. Stir to combine, then add one large cube and stir again until chilled. Garnish with a rosemary sprig that you’ve rubbed between your palms to release its aroma. Enjoy!
