Early lunch before 🏃 out to work! Kale salad with tahini dressing, leftover lentils, steamed cauliflower topped with nooch & a dollop of guac 💚💚💚

I can’t believe 10 years have passed since my Hodgkin’s Lymphoma stage 3b diagnosis! I thank God everyday that He brought me through, & stronger than ever, with a deep passion for natural healing🙏🏽. I mark today as my 10th year cancer free, as this was the day that I completed my very last chemo treatment. I did 6 months of chemo, 2x a month. I try to not live with regrets, & I must admit, it’s something that I still struggle with even ten years later...the regret of not looking towards alternative routes of healing instead of using chemo (which my oncologist told me has a half life of 10-12 years in the body!). I WISH I had all of knowledge that I have now about healing from the inside out & I WISH I was in the right head space to do so. I just know in my gut that 23 years of topical steroid use for eczema at the time contributed to the cancer. Plus just not taking care of my health in general, eating terribly etc. Clearly in retrospect I would’ve done things much different, BUT I’ve learned that everything happens the way it should, in its own divine time, in its own way. Some background to my diagnosis...I was 23 years old, I had graduated college the year before, the stress of school really took its toll on my body & my skin & overall health was going downhill fast. It’s like I could feel it the moment I graduated...like I was just holding out the last couple of months, struggling to make it through. I didn’t know anything about stopping the steroids and looking towards natural routes of healing, I had no intention of living a healthy lifestyle...I became reclusive because of the way my skin looked as it was getting worse and it was hard for me to even look in the mirror, hence why I had no idea of the lump growing in my clavicle. It was only until I went for a regular check up with a new primary care doc did she point out the lump. Many needle biopsies at the ENT doc later which were inconclusive, then to surgery of the removal of the golf ball sized mass which then led to the diagnosis of cancer. 🌺Read more in the comments...

I'm all for Movember.. -
They are doing an amazing job for men's health awareness.
-
But the state of men's health in the UK is seriously concerning..
-
And I wonder why??
-
Is it that like in most countries, people just live how they want to live until something goes wrong to see a doctor??
-
Or lack of education?? -
I think Prevention is always best. -
And what does research say is the best way to prevent some of the most common male related health issues??
-
⭕ 1. EAT MORE FARK'N PLANTS - Fruit, vegetables, beans, soy (non-GMO) and whole grains all contain things that HELP prevent disease rather than increase the risk of it. -
⭕ 2. EAT LESS RED MEAT - Processed red meat is now on the world health organisations list of carcinogenic, and red meat is the next level down in the "probably causes cancer" list. -
⭕ 3. Exercise!! Duh! Quit Smoking Duh!
-
So why aren't we males wanting to prevent these horrible things from happening? I'm sure we have all had people close to us die of something that could, at the very least been delayed by a few years by diet and exercise intervention?? -
It is because we are too proud?? -
Is it because we think that it's 'manly' to eat meat??
-
(I personally think it takes a lot more balls to stand up from what you believe in and go against the norm)
-
Regardless, I'm not asking you to be vegan, I'm just asking that you MAN UP and take responsibility for your health so you can lead by example, and be there for your family later on. -
Tag your Man Friend!

Thanks iHerb for stocking so many awesome healthy pantry goods which are hard to find in Australia!!

This was just what I needed today: to open up my baked sweet potato (white skin) which I assumed was white on the inside (I do love those too) and discovering it was bright purple and tasted like candy. So satisfying ☺️

It is OKAY to disagree with others. We are human beings not robots.
.
I think a part of us that makes us all so beautiful is the fact that we are all so unique in so many ways. Our perspective as children has more than likely changed going into our teenage years and from our teenage years to adult hood it has more than likely changed some more.
.
This is beautiful.
.
As we grow, we meet new people, environments and learn new skills/information. Throughout this process we will meet others with very persuasive arguments, maybe on topics you don’t know much about, so you stay quiet and just LISTEN.
.
This listening overtime turns more and more into thinking about what to say next and how you can win the argument. STOP doing this! Practice conscious communication with others.
.
.
This means giving them time to speak and while they are speaking genuinely listening to what they have to say and then having your turn.
.
Know that every conversation does not have to have a “winner” or “loser” it is okay to agree to disagree. You are open to your opinions and beliefs and so is the other person.
.
This takes consistency and to be honest I have to work on it every single day and stop myself in the act of “thinking” vs. “listening” quite often that’s okay though! .
Becoming aware is always the first step 🙏🏻

Studies have shown that coffee may prevent iron and calcium absorption. The research also shows that it has more of an effect on non-heme iron which is the kind of iron found in plants.
But don't turn off your coffee maker just yet! It's not all bad news.
Coffee only reduces calcium absorption by a very small amount. Studies have concluded that if your calcium levels are decent there is no need to worry.
As for iron, the effect on absorption is higher but it only has an effect if your iron source and coffee are consumed together. Just an hour between the two stops the effect completely.
Although caffeine is partly to blame for all this, it's actually polyphenols which are the real culprits. So should we hide from these guys... good luck: they're found in all plants!
But they are also potent antioxidants! You know those things that prevent cancer and many other diseases!
Wow. What an emotional roller-coaster.
So not only does coffee give us the will to live when we have to go to work but it's actually pretty good for us, just have your kale an hour later.
Did you know about this?
💚✌️🌱
