Olympia Prep re-cap! Start of prep July 9th vs. The big day Sep 15th.
Starting weight was 132.6 and when I left for Vegas it was 122.6. I'm guessing my weight on stage was about 121.5. 👉🏼10.5 weeks of HARD work and consistency. I have some thoughts about this prep that I'd like to share.
I told myself at the beginning of this prep that I would give it 150%. I promised that I would dig deeper than ever. I pushed myself like an all around athlete. I was at the track, in the pool, taking random spin classes, slamming battle ropes like there was no tomorrow, and gave every weight training session everything in me. I paid attention to recovery with weekly yoga, rolling out, cryotherapy, and muscle scraping sessions with the amazing @stevetolnai.
This prep ended up being my favorite prep so far. I set little goals constantly and that seemed to keep me going. I was always aiming to beat my swim workout time each week...pushing my 100 meter sprints each week, shaving time off of my bleacher sprints, pushing weight on my leg presses etc. We thrive off of setting goals and progression towards those goals, in my opinion. We Need to know that the hard work we are putting in is paying off.
When I stepped on stage this weekend, I walked across that stage with more confidence than ever before. I was proud because of the steps I took to get there. I was proud of the effort I put in. I allowed myself to be completely proud for once and didn't pick a part anything. Each show and each prep has taught me something. With this prep the athlete in me woke up again!! There were quite a few workouts during this prep where I was very mentally and physically challenged...to the point of tears. It was during those workouts where I realized how much potential I have and how much potential you have.
Do not sell yourself short. Get that negative voice out of your head that tells you that you can't. I am here as proof to tell you that you can! I'm not talking about just stepping on stage… I'm talking about setting any goals and absolutely crushing them. Set goals...set them high...and CRUSH them! **the winner of the zoom giveaway is @erin_larsen3. DM me! 😊Thanks to all that entered!
