#latergram rant -
Ill say it yet again, the PAL region spine uniform is the biggest regret I have about collecting in NTSC. To my eyes, white spine with a protocol font is the way to go for many reasons. TO me, the biggest problem is the pandering, lowest common denominator-targeted flashy texts and colors (let me guess, dark aqua and bright orange? 7×/10 lol).
No good game can be ruined by having a plain text spine. No piece of shit game can get a second chance for having a flash spine. Just make it fucking plain and uniform! And If you absolutely insist on featuring more than the title on the spine, please keep it together with protocol and icons. no one needs the publisher's logo on the damn spine, looking at you EA, looking at you XSEED, looking at you. Literally no one else does it so why do you insist on fucking with full colour corporate logos on the fucking spine. Big ups especially to companies that are gagging for brands recognition and still don't emblazon the spine with some bs- looking at you media molecule, Falcom!😍 So in closing, I wish all my games looked the way FFX and Toukiden do. Akiba's strip is so close but "hey XSEED, you're not selling additional units by putting that logo on the spine"
If I lived in Europe, as far as I can tell, almost the whole collection would be neat and uniform.
By contrast, I have 96 North American physical releases for vita, and only 2 have a truly nice plain spine
