Passus. 2016. pencil, pen and acrylic on BFK.
My mother bought this one as soon as I put it online last year. I’ve been texting her pictures from Arrowmont School of Arts and Class all week, from the #drawingwiththreadclass, because she’s still the first one I want to show the pictures to that I make at school. She always puts it on the proverbial fridge. Easy to follow one’s heart when the people that love you have always celebrated you doing so.
The woman in this drawing comes from a home like I do, with lots of good soil for her roots. She grew them strong and still feels them in her belly wherever she goes on all her adventures. Her mother taught her to see where the magic is hiding, (which is in no less than everything.)
