My light source for these studies is the sun. I'm used to working from carefully positioned lamps, steady, unchanging and exact. I think I learn so much more about a subject by sitting with it for eight hours and watching it transform as the sun moves across it. Forms that were confusing untangle themselves when the sun hits them in a certain way. At other moments rigid bone lights up like liquid honey, revealing a hidden translucency. These two broken (goat?) skulls were good companions yesterday.
