"Vengeance Served Frozen." Tonight's #D20MonsterMash is (4/13) is a Banshee + Abominable Snow Man. I tried some new things with blender markers for the 'ghostly' look...not sure it worked. Makes more sense with the Box Text:
A Banshee is a spirit of Vengence.
But not a ghost born to only one soul, but a wandering spirit being that looks for a host to inhabit until vengeance is achieved or they are cast out.
When the yeti materialized again in our dimension it was only after the spirit had found the last remnant of his physical form rotting in the early spring thaws of a mountainside.
As the yeti tried to make sense of it's new form, it stared up the mountainside and saw an elaborate hunting lodge where an old camp used to be. A camp where he had saved climbers from an attack of wolves. For his kindness, they turned on him. He remember a sharp pain and a loud crack and then...dreamless sleep for ages? Now through the large windows of the lodge looming in front of him, he saw himself. Not in a reflection, but standing in the center of the main room, near the fire place. If he could read, the creature would have seen the plaque on the platform where his body stood, mounted as a trophy. "Abominable Snowman" it read.
The realization of what had happened released anger though his being and the spirit of vengeance corsed through him and he howled. He howled with rage. He howled with betrayal. He howled for vengeance. The power of the Banshee turned that howl into a blast of sonic power. That blast shafted the lodge window, disrupting the festivities of the group that was celebrating the 10th anniversary of their rise to fame and fortune when they had bagged a mythical creature during an expedition. The did not have to face the cold or the fear of the howling apparition of their long dead quarry long. The blast had already found it's way up the mountain and the avalanche it would bring down would bury the lower shelf so badly it would not give up it's dead until the summer. The debris and snow blew through the ethereal form of the yeti and as the last flurry of debris blew away, so did the spirit of vengeance.
