"Draped up and dripped out, know what I'm talkin bout." Screwed Up Click "This a dedication to DJ Screw, Fat Pat, Big Mello, Big Steve..." A music style created by Robert Earl Davis Jr., better known as DJ Screw. DJ Screw was the creator of chopped and screwed, a DJ technique now known as a music style. His influence is heard in Houston's (and surrounding states ) hip-hop and rap culture even to this day. The genre sown by DJ Screw has since evolved into a Houston-based subculture that is associated with the recreational consumption of codeine, opulent jewelry and elaborate vintage vehicles. Screw has also left behind a cult following of listeners who self-identify as "screwheads". The final picture I have posted is an original artwork created by @donkeeboy for @8thwonderbrew . This artwork was completed in part by beer drinkers who attended an event honoring the late Robert Earl Davis Jr. Each attendant was able to screw in screws to the art piece. The art work was created in honor of DJ Screw and the lasting impact he left on the city.
Draped up, a 4x dry hopped IPA with Mosaic, Amarrillo, Galaxy, and Wakatu; has huge peach, citrus, pineapple, and stone fruit taste and smell. Easy drinking juice bomb that's hazy as they come. The name pays homage to Screw and the city. While the purple top is their rendition of codeine which has huge connections with most Houston based rappers as this drug "slowed you down," hence why chopped and screwed was a huge hit. They aren't paying homage to the drug, but rather to the influences it gave to the Houston music scene.
