Rosehip oil is a magical golden oil I started using (I am embarrassed to admit) about 2 years ago. I quickly fell in love with how well it hydrates skin (like my dry, itchy forehead that I swear is impossible to keep hydrated!) and how it brightened my guests’ skin after a facial! I enjoy using this golden goodness in the evening, as it complements my facial cupping. However, it can be used day or night.
Rosehip oil was used by the Egyptians, Mayans and Native Americans due to its natural healing properties. It is full of fatty acids and full of Vitamins A and C.
Vitamin A helps smooth skin and fights signs of aging by encouraging cell turnover and cell renewal. It can fade dark spots, erase fine lines, and even reduce scarring. Although many dermatologists prescribe high potency Retinals derived from Vitamin A, I truly believe Rosehip oil is a wonderful holistic alternative to anti-aging without all the harsh chemicals.
Vitamin C is a powerful antioxidant that keeps skin tight and bright, protecting you from environmental pollutants that can accelerate the aging process. It helps fade dark spots, and stimulates collagen, reverses signs of photo-damaged skin keeping your skin looking youthful.
Rosehip oil is a great oil to add to your skincare regimen - I do, however, recommend testing it on your skin to make sure it’s compatible with you (especially those who are acne prone). I also don’t recommend this as a moisturizer replacement. Although it’s extremely hydrating, it’s still important to use a proper moisturizer that binds water to the skin first. Then use the oil, or just simply add a few drops to your moisturizer😃
