With New Orleans' mayoral election looming, one long-rumored possible candidate, developer and trash collection magnate Sidney Torres IV, may one-up even Donald Trump.
In March, CNBC will launch "The Deed," a reality show in which Torres steps in to rescue struggling renovators with money and tough-talking advice.
And even before Torres himself takes his star turn, Fox will debut a new crime drama on Feb. 6 that's loosely based on Torres' sponsorship of a highly-publicized, app-driven initiative to fight crime in the French Quarter. the network's web site says the plot of "APB" was inspired by the New York Times Magazine story "Who Runs the Streets of New Orleans?"
