The 33rd #movie I've seen at the #cinema so far this year: #donttellmovie #donttell
One of the most powerful films I've ever seen. At the risk of detracting from its own identity, Don't Tell was almost like an Australian version of the groundbreaking 2015 American biographical crime drama Spotlight, in that it documented the real-life investigation into institutionalised (and covered up) child abuse, in the Queensland school system. The fact I got to attend a Q&A afterwards with the producer, two of the actors and also with the real-life victim upon whom the film is based, was hugely powerful. The overwhelming view from the audience was that this film needs to be in school curricula, so that every child realises that, to quote from the film's final message "When someone says to you, 'Don't Tell'... Don't Listen!"
