Incredibly as it may seem, in 2017 there are many developed countries where the LGTBIQ community does not have the right to donate blood.
Countries such as Germany, the Netherlands, Sweden, Canada, EUA, UK, Brazil, Austria, Belgium, China, Croatia, Denmark, Slovenia, Estonia, Greece, Island, Algeria, India, Israel, Lithuania, Slovakia, Malta, Norway, Philippines, Turkey, Japan, Czech Republic, Serbia.
Luckily, Spain is one of the few countries without a gay blood ban. Everyone can donate blood, regardless of your sexual orientation or nationality.
This year, on the occasion of WorldPride Madrid 2017, AEGAL (one of the main organizers of the event) launches WorldPride Donors. An initiative so anyone from the LGTBIQ community whos visiting the city to celebrate WorldPride, can become a blood donor in Madrid.
WorldPride Donors will be taking place in Puerta del Sol Official Donation Point (Madrid), on Saturday 24th!!!
