I knew when I saw this boat that it exemplified something discarded, abandoned, forsaken. Week 9's challenge was Forsaken, so I had an excuse to play with the basic picture and really present what I felt when I saw the boat--and for me, that's why I do photography. #dogwood52#dogwood2018#dogwoodweek9
Get ready for some #instaoverload because I have some #dogwood52 to catch up on. This should have been #dogwoodweek9, “Shadows”. Jamilyn and I hiked this steep muddy hill to get all the way to these pillboxes. In the end, we had a great view of the Pipeline surfing! Also, I’m pretty sure Minnie Driver was hiking in front of us, but I never got the nerve to ask if it was her.
I've been trying to take photos during the specified week but the other challenge i worked on (from just a few weeks ago within 2018) was Neglected and i took quite a few different photos that seemed to link with this theme. It was hard to bypass one of those photos last time, so I'm using it for this week. I played around with HDR and Lightroom to try and give it that Forsaken look. Not sure if I accomplished that.

Week 9 Creative: Foresaken When this category comes up, you really have room to express yourself. You can interpret the assignment literally or figuratively. Unlike the other categories, the idea of this category is to let your artisict impression shine. This is one of many houses near the neighborhood in which I work. It’s very sad to see so many homes like this. I can only hope that what I do and who I work for can in some way help break the cycle of poverty. #dogwood2018#dogwoodweek9#foresaken#blight#poverty#abandoned#canons100
