Edinburgh castle. 🏰 There has been a royal Castle in this location since the 12th century. The castle continue to serve as a royal residence until the 17th century, after King James VI inherited the English throne becoming also King James the first of England and Ireland uniting the Crown's. After inheriting the throne he fucked off to England promising to return at least every three years, he only returned once!! The oldest building still standing in the castle and in Edinburgh is the 12th century St Margaret's Chapel. It's still used for religious ceremonies.
The castle was heavily fortified you passed through two huge Gatehouse is on the way in. But despite this the castle didn't fare too well in a long siege some silly bugger didn't dig the well deep enough so they would run out of water.
