With Afghanistan's Independence Day on the 19th of August, Iranian-Afghan photographer Mujtaba Jalali (@mujtabajalali) has curated Andrea's work on Afghan-Americans. She documented them moving back to Afghanistan. For Mujtaba, "this is the story of the recent generation of Afghans detached from their country due to consequences of war and are struggling to find their roots back home." Caption: Afghanistan, Kabul, September 2011, Ariel Nasr, documentarian: "For a long time, every time I stood in the lineup at passport control to come into Afghanistan, I would get nervous, start to sweat, and turn cold. My struggle with my identity would all come to a head in that 15 minutes of standing in line."
