Vitamin C is an antioxidant, which helps strengthen your skin and repel it from damage. It is also great for anti-aging, pore size, brightening, and collagen production! •There are hundreds of products containing Vitamin C, mainly serums, and many I’m a fan of using. However, another way which is quite useful is Vitamin C crystals. They also add some fun to your routine as well. The brand I have used is DNA Medi-C Crystals. They come in a glass bottle that you can sprinkle into your hand to add to your product- you don’t need much! These can be combined into masks and lotions. My favorite way so far using these crystals, are to add them into a recovery-type mask. I like to sleep overnight with it for glowing skin the next day. Masks by Peter Roth are my favorite: Cucumber Gel Mask (hydrating and calming), Rose Stem Cell Mask (repairing), & Blue Marine Algae Mask (nutrients and moisture). These are light masks that apply clear. Another way to use these crystals is to add a small amount to your lotion in the morning.
Other forms of Vitamin C I love: •••••••••
• SkinCeuticals CE Ferulic- 15% and lasts up to 72 hours
• iS Clinical Pro-Heal Advance Serum- Highest level of antioxidant support
• Glossier Super Glow- Gentle & includes Magnesium to calm
• Obagi Profession C Serum- 20% & very powerful
• Eminence Organics Citrus & Kale Potent C + E Serum- Superfoods
•If you are just starting out using Vitamin C, and would like to try a serum, I would suggest the Pro-Heal or Super Glow, as they are gentler and for sensitive skin types. If none of these appeal to you, the most important part of choosing a Vitamin C serum is that it is L-ascorbic acid, which is the most bioavailable form.
