This is why we say focus on what really matters, because as humans we are highly distractable and need constant reminding of what should be the focus. Yes, we all want an obituary some day that speaks of all we accomplished and we want to leave a mark on this world— but we also have a right to slow down and smell the flowers, watch the birds, feel the breeze against our face, eat some ice cream, hug our loved ones, and whatever else reminds us of the goodness of life. A slow stirring resentment began to build inside me at God; without realizing, I was waiting on His voice to come from a burning bush. More often than not, how He speaks is specific to the positioning He wants for us. And at this time, His voice was as subtle as the rising and falling of our breast as we sleep at night. He was speaking quietly to me so I could be quiet, too.

A yummy oil-free salad with chuka soba (Japanese ramen) noodles and seasoned pan fried tofu. I ate this during my parasite detox a few months ago. There's a video on my YouTube channel (The Divine Hostess) with all the details. 🍜🍃

When I am coaching clients, I ask when was their last complete blood work up. Many say they can't remember, while others had one but did not pay attention to the results. Low iron has been a common issue with many of my clients. The signs are so gradual, they may go unnoticed or accepted as normal. Low iron can severely affect cognitive ability, lead to fatigue, cause weakness and dizziness and more. If you know your iron is low, this is a great source. It doesn't cause constipation and it includes vitamins C, which helps absorption.

Last night Pastor @toureroberts spoke about the "Faith Zone" and it was incredible. Every message is useful, but every so often I hear one that I know will be pivotal-- a complete game changer. I'm now asking God what He has for me that I do not currently have the faith to receive. What hit me most from listening was that it might not simply be the absence of faith, but the presence of my doubt. Doubt comes in like a weed chokes out the very tools God gives us to accomplish what He intended for us to accomplish. The way I see obstacles, how resourceful I am, my ability to produce, how well I can cling to hope, it all comes back to the level of my faith. On this day, at this very time, I am saying it is time to level up. I am not going to doubt myself out of the promise. 🙏❤️

Can you think of a food from your childhood that makes you feel nostalgic? Though I could never narrow it down to one, pancit is at least top 10. I always looked forward to enjoying it at birthday parties and other neighborhood and family functions. I will be honest, I didn't exactly nail it. Ever felt super fickle about what to eat? That's me this week. Last night I didn't eat dinner till almost 9pm because though I was hungry, I couldn't decide. 🙈
Lunch was okay, though. Had this yummy dragonfruit smoothie. Love the vibrant color more than anything. Dragonfruit really does not taste like anything special to me! -----------------------------------------------------------
Dragonfruit smoothie: --------------------------------------------------------- •1/4 cup dragonfruit puree
•1/2 cup frozen banana slices
•1/2 cup frozen mango chunks

• 1 cup cashew milk

There is so very little in life that we really have much power to control. Our thoughts and our attitudes, however are up to us. Instead of clinging tightly to the familiar long after change has come, I am learning instead that there is power and strength in letting go.

One of the worst things we can be is in a rush in our daily lives. Wake up a little earlier. Leave the house a little earlier. Take time for the detours, because off the beaten path is where the best little discoveries happen. Sometimes you find it was more about those detours than the actual destination itself. 💕

Sometimes you need to recognize when too much is on your shoulders. It's okay to set the weight down, take a rest, repack somethings, and let others go for good. I'm on reset mode. ✌🏾

🍓Monday morning breakkie: plain Greek yogurt, fresh berries, chia seeds and a drizzle of honey.

{Berry Apple Breakfast Salad}
1 cup shredded dark leafy greens 🥗
1/4 cup sliced strawberries 🍓
1/4 cup diced Granny Smith apple🍏
1-2 finely chopped dates
2 tbsp fresh chopped cilantro
1/2 tbsp chia seeds
For the dressing
3 tbsp mild flavorless oil (like grapeseed)
2 tbsp red wine vinegar
1 tsp dijon mustard
1/2 tsp dried oregano
a pinch of sea salt

1️⃣Combine leafy greens, strawberries, apples, dates and cilantro.
2️⃣Once complete, sprinkle chia seeds on top.

3️⃣Whisk salad dressing ingredients till well blended. A mason jar is great for this, because you can shake it, and store the rest for later. The dressing is enough for about 3 servings.

4️⃣For best results, let salad sit for 5-10 minutes to marinate.

One really great way to replenish after a tough workout is grapefruit with a dash of Himalayan pink salt. I let the grapefruit get nice and ripe so it is juicier and there are sweeter tones, then by adding the pink salt it helps to balance electrolytes. No Gatorade needed. 😉🐰
