We paved the streets of London to school people on the importance of diversity & inclusion During #LFW. Lets Normalise Diversity 💕✨

Oh did I forget to mention this happened? After telling @badgalriri that I had been fighting for more diversity in beauty for 16 years she said, "oh my, well come let me give you a hugggg"- warm, sweet and super cool, just like that her sold out range, which still commands people queuing outside @harveynichols has validated what I have been saying and shamed all the brands who told me darker shades don't sell, there's no shelving space for it and all the other offensive shit I've had to listen to for years. @fentybeauty thank you for leading the way and showing diversity isn't a dirty word. P.S. I look totally insane and overexcited #jeweltonesbeauty #fentybeauty #fentybeautyxHN #rihanna #diversity

My biggest takeaway from the #WomeninTechSg conference was from a talk by Martin Mackay, GM of CA technologies in the region. One of the 3 leadership traits he believes in is Benevolence, which I think is an underrated trait. Kindness is often mistaken for weakness and so it's not found as often as we'd like-- Just a little reminder for us all✨

PERFECT 👌| Good Morning ✨

‼️NEW Episode‼️Today you’ll hear from Jen Flowers and Stefanie Myers, two of the makers of @tedxtinhauwomen Hong Kong’s new TEDx event - the TED licensed, but independently run local conferences. This time we recorded in the tiniest place I ever recorded in to talk about big issues: Why it is important for women to share their ideas, how to educate the next generation about values, diversity, equality and much more.

- MY VOTE - .
.
I want to tell you what it was like for me, growing up knowing I was gay.
.
.
I was consumed with fear. Fear of rejection, fear of judgement, fear of the unknown. Fear that I’d be thought of as less. Fear that nothing I could ever do would be good enough because all I would ever be known for, was being “different”. I thought I had to soften my own identity so as not to upset other people, because after all, I didn’t want to offend anyone.
.
.
I laughed off the gay jokes and the bullies. I kept going. I kept busy. So busy. I thought maybe, if I tried really hard, and was good at something, it might distract people and they’d forget.
.
.
Eventually I grew up. My skin got thicker, or maybe it was my heart. It wasn’t worth not being myself for the benefit of anyone else anymore. I spoke up. I was proud to be me. I was grateful for every single person who had come before me who had had those tough conversations, and who had paved an easier way for me in the world. I vowed to be that person for other people. I wanted to pass on the same kindness. It felt like the right thing to do.
.
.
I am lucky. I have the support of all of my friends and family. But even still, because of this postal vote, all those fears I once had, have come flooding back. It feels like I’m being bullied, but this time, the classroom is the entire country, and the “teacher” is just watching it happen and sometimes, offering a round of applause.
.
.
I come out every day, and every time I brace myself to have a conversation with someone about how they’re going to vote, not knowing what their response will be, the anxiety creeps back in. But, I keep going….. Kate keeps going…..and with a smile on our faces, because if we get angry or upset, it just gives people ammunition.
.
.
Make no mistake, there is no justifiable argument against equality. It is simply the right thing to do.

#authenticselfie I need to hand it to all the runners out there. I've never been drawn to running as a form of exercise but I know my body needs pushing, it's getting too comfortable, and comfort only leads to stagnation. If I want to get the most out of me, I need to challenge myself and nothing is more challenging for me than running. I couldn't even run around my block. I knew it would be physically challenging but what I didn't expect was how emotionally challenging it was. At the gym everyone is exercising, we are all sweating, puffing and it means we are all equally vulnerable. However running around my neighbourhood, I was the odd one out, everyone else was just doing daily life which left me standing out. I felt their eyes follow me, probably purely because I caught their eye. It left me so vulnerable, my red face, my sweat, my jiggly bits were out for all to see. Exercise was no longer private and I really felt like people would judge me for not running well, or looking silly. I soon changed that tape playing in my mind to one of encouragement. Even if they were judging me, which really I doubt they were, did I want other people to stop me from looking after my body? No!!! Let them stare, I will not be erased, I will not be made to feel like I don't have a right to run, or jump or sing. My body, my way. Instead of beating myself up, suddenly I was cheering myself on. "Look at you go, you are a champion, look at you not caring what people think, you're giving others courage to run too". Suddenly I was no longer self conscious and I proudly ran around my block!!! Hooray. I love that with running seeing my progress will be pretty easy, I'll be able to compare how far I could run without stopping. So excited to add this to the ways I move my body. Hope you enjoy my running face photos 🙌🏻
