I've gotten lots of questions about my meal plan so I'm going to try and give you a rundown of the basics. However, it is important to note that the way I eat is not the only thing that works, it's just what works best for me! Please remember that!
What I do is called if it fits your macros or flexible dieting. The basic idea is that everything you consume can be broken down into the 3 macronutrients: protein, fat, or carbs. Based on your age, gender, weight, height, activity level, body type (ectomorph, mesomorph, or endomorph) and your goals, you can determine what your daily macro intake needs to be. Then, as long as the food you consume fits within your daily allotment of macros, you can eat it! If you want to try it out, you can visit macronutrientcalculator.com for a pretty basic and easy to use macro calculator. Use the "Help me find my daily calorie needs" option to first figure out what your daily caloric intake should be. Then, click "use this value" to adjust your macro percentages. This will vary depending on your goals and your body type. You can check out the macro breakdown articles on bodybuilding.com for some awesome references. I track all of my food using the myfitnesspal app. That means EVERY thing I eat is scanned and either weighed with a food scale or measured in cups and tablespoons. I am the type of person that once I find out what fits my macros, I am perfectly fine eating the same thing every day. If you're not, you can use myfitnesspal to track throughout the day or you can sit down the night before and plan out what you want to eat the next day. Depending on my goals, I also give myself one cheat meal on the weekend, not one cheat day, just one meal that isn't tracked.

Transformation Tuesday! The photo on the left is today and the photo on right was from early January of this year. My eating habits were out of control this offseason and I basically went #yolo with #unlimited #macros and gained 30 lbs in a five month period. It was no one's fault but my own & goes to show how important nutrition is, even if you are training your ass off. l will say I do not regret this.. but it was a lesson learned on treating and respecting my body better. I was a bit hesitant on posting this but I feel like it will shed light on the up's and downs of ones' own goals relating to fitness.
