What’s this #toddlermeal? ⬇️
-Spinach & cheese noodles
-Steamed mixed veggies (May or may not eat them🤣)
-Organic ground beef & pasta sauce
-Side of milk

I can never decide what my absolute favorite veggie is. Sometimes I say broccoli other days I say Brussels sprouts, which has been more frequent lately. I think it changes with the seasons ❄️ Either way, they’re both cruciferous vegetables so at least I’m in the same arena there.
Cruciferous vegetables have a sulfur-containing photochemical called glucosinolate which is why both broccoli and Brussels sprouts can have such a bitter flavor and distinct flavor if not cooked properly.
Both cooking and the digestion process break down glucosinolates into compounds called isothiocyanates that have been researched for their cancer-fighting benefits!

When “a taste test” turns into two bars hehe 🙊 Made these choc chip cookie dough brownies (recipe from @naturally_nina_ ) late last night bc I was in a baking mood after getting home from work. Pretty wild Friday night making brownies out of beans lol

Worried about having a successful holiday? Y’all should know by now it’s not my style to tell you what to do, but here are some of my suggestions for what NOT TO do this holiday season.

🙅🏼‍♀️ Don’t try to make your holiday staples “healthier”. Don’t get me wrong, this doesn’t mean you can’t add in some new recipes like a roasted non starchy veg to balance out the menu... but think about what foods are your favorites and give 👏🏼 yourself 👏🏼 permission 👏🏼 to enjoy them.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
🙅🏼‍♀️ Don’t skip breakfast, intentionally eat light the day of the big meal or eat less out of guilt the next day. Having a balanced breakfast (PFC) and sticking to a consistent routine will keep you feeling satisfied and energized. Skipping meals to “save up calories” could lead to over indulgence and doesn’t honor that intuitive eater in you.

🙅🏼‍♀️ Don’t be a potato! 🥔 Keep active and think of ways to create new traditions by involving the family. Participate in a local Turkey Trot, start a family football game, go for a hike or head to the mall on Black Friday to walk around and people watch. 👀

🙅🏼‍♀️ To the same point, please, don’t punish yourself with exercise. Unsubscribe from the messages that tell you to “earn” or “burn off” your turkey.

This dinner from awhile ago was ridiculously EASY and created minimal dishes. Chicken was the protein of choice for the night, paired with brussels sprouts (plus avocado oil and spices) and berries that were about to spoil were cooked on low into a decadent sauce (great eaten plain or on toast or cake 😋) .
