Hello world! This is 👑Latrice Wilkes👑, and for my turn on the Insta, I want to talk about the die-in at the end of the march the other day (pic #1). It had such a huge impact on me. Just laying there on the ground, listening 👂🏼 to the names of people--REAL PEOPLE--who have been murdered by the police have me chills. White, black, purple, tie dye--I don't care what color you are. We have got to take action 🗣 against injustice. On Sept. 15, 2007, there was an anti-war protest in Washington, DC, where ppl took the name of a soldier who was killed 💣 in war... These people then laid down around the Peace Monument. In 2017 people have protested Donald Trump's health care cuts with die-ins (pic #2). What a statement. After we held our own die-in, I know this is a madddd way to make our voices heard. I'm still talking to ppl 'bout it, but what if we have a die in on the court house steps 🏛🏛🏛 at the trial for Officer Guzzo vs. Rashad Butler? We could take on the names of African Americans needlessly murdered 🔫🔫🔫 by the police. 'Shad is alive... but he was lucky. I'm game. U in?
