The Rockies have acquired RHP Pat Neshek in exchange for three quality prospects, Jose Gomez, Alejandro Requena, and J.D. Hammer. Neshek has performed at an excellent level. He has thrown to a 1.12 ERA with 45 strikeouts in 40.1 innings pitched, and he also made his second career All Star team. SS Jose Gomez has hit .324 with 33 RBI and 18 SB and at 20 years old, he looks to have a promising future. Alejandro Requena, another 20 year old, has pitched well in the minors, with a 2.85 ERA and 97 strikeouts in 117. J.D. Hammer is the last player that the Phillies will be receiving. He has posted a 2.36 ERA with 65 strikeouts in 42 innings in the minors. This is a solid deal on both sides as the Rockies really needed an extra bullpen arm, and the Phillies need as many prospects as they can get in hopes to improve in the future.
