For the first time in 36 years of being diabetic I went into diabetic shock yesterday. One minute I'm watching tv with my son, the next surrounded by paramedics. It was an out of body experience. When I came too I felt like I was in a dream. This happened on the anniversary of my fathers death which I found quite ironic. I'm so thankful my husband was home. He said I couldn't speak, my throat was closing and my eyes were wide open but I was unresponsive. I wasn't wearing my Dexcom and I learned a valuable lesson. I have it in on now and always will. Diabetes is a scary disease but very easy if you're in control.
