The past month has been quite the challenge from all the things that have happened in my personal life that had a huge impact on my work. Sadly I’ve been a lot less productive on pretty much all of my projects, and I’m very thankful for having the people I work with on these projects that have been able to take some of the work load. It’s heavier than you might think to break up with someone you’ve been with for 5 years and had a whole life planned out with. All the things I’ve learned from studying, reading and reflecting sure have helped a lot, but when it comes down to it we are all just human. I usually express the way I see myself when I look at my behaviour and how I feel as if I have two people inside of me. One of them is the irrational, illogical, emotional person who lashes out and acts only on emotions, no matter how bad or good they are. And the other is the rational, logical and thoughtful person who’s job it is to control the irrational person. Over the years I’ve trained my rational person to be stronger and better at controlling the irrational person, but sometimes it just becomes too much. And ultimately the one who wins is the one in control. Yeah weird, I know.
So even though I haven’t been super productive I’ve still been able to keep up with most of the work on my current client projects, where as my personal projects have been taking the hits. I am still working extremely hard to finish off my client projects before the end of the year to have time to work on my personal project, but most of them have been delayed for different reasons. Speaking of my personal project, I’m meeting up with a person from the city who is very well known and experienced in the business and startup field here in Gothenburg. I had a chance to talk to him at our little Christmas get-together at the office last week and he’s an incredibly smart and passionate guy that I could talk to very easily and that (from what it seems) has read the same books as I have. Hope to exchange some great energy and receive some guidance as to how to move forward with my personal project.
Anyway I hope you all had a fantastic weekend and as always, keep up the hustle guys! 👊
