⚙️Design process frameworks

There are 2most practiced frameworks in 2018:
♦️Double Diamond
♦️Sprint
.
.
📍Double Diamond: A great fit for a innovative startups and projects
————
Iterative process
Involved mostly designers
Whole project
Longer (2-6 months)
.
It offers two divide your timeline into 4 stages:
Discover / Define / Develop / Deliver
.
1️⃣Discover
Designers try to: research, notice new things, gather insights.
2️⃣Define
Designers try to: make sense of all the possibilities from the Discovery phase.
3️⃣Develop
Designers develop solutions or concepts, prototype them, test and iterate.
4️⃣Deliver
Delivery stage, where the resulting project (a product, service or environment) is finalised, produced and launched.
.
.
📍Sprint: A great fit for developing existing product features
————
Develop Feature or product parts
Involved a whole team
Hyper fast (5 days)
.
The sprint is a 5 day process for answering critical business questions through design, prototyping, and testing ideas with customers.
Each day you do 1 thing:
1️⃣Map
2️⃣Sketch
3️⃣Decide
4️⃣Prototype
5️⃣Test

💥Post about ENERGY
————
.
There are so many talks about making your life better
All that it takes is:
💪Don’t be lazy, wake up early, do a workout, meditate, read books, work a lot, travel as much as you can, eat healthily, keep stuff on order, surround yourself with incredible people…and many more
.
🤔The question is:
————
❓Where, the heck, you take so much energy from?
.
.
I don’t have a problem with any of the higher mentioned activities.
There is no more need to repeat them again and again
Instead, all that I ask myself every day is:
❓How on earth can I find so much energy to manage all that?
————
.
.
🤷‍♀️People tell me a lot that I have an infinite energy and I’m getting confused
I cannot manage to do even 40% from that list. Even so, it takes me a lot of time to recover to manage that 40%
😴I sleep 8-9h/day. I demand my 2h a day to do nothing but to rest and get distracted
If sleep and rest is compromised, I can literally fall sick from no energy the next day
.
❓How do you find yourself in this imbalance?

👩‍💻How to design a Landing pages?
————
.
📍The main purpose of the landing page is to create a narrative, to tell a breathtaking story about the product, service, etc…
.
☝️Normally, whoever comes to your landing comes there for a reason: To get most the important questions answered. Your page must prove that you can «Save a visitor» from whatever pain or need (s)he has.
.
👞 As a designer your goal is to give the Visitor all the answers in the right moment. Start by putting yourself in the Visitor shoes. Think how would you end up on the page and what would be a sequence of questions you’d have to get answered.
.
⤵️ Here are 6 pretty much usual questions for every landing:
————
.
♦️Why you can’t live without it? -> Hero image
♦️What is it? -> About the product
♦️How does it work? -> Steps, features
♦️Why should I trust you? -> Testimonials, references, diploma’s
♦️How much it worth? -> Prices, plans
🔹After you might come up with Something awesome, to excite or interest the visitor (videos, promotion, giveaways)
♦️Where can I reach you? -> Contacts, social media, address
————
.
PS. Here is a new landing page for my startup app. I followed exactly the same logic (I also dropped the link to it in Bio)

📥 Exporting assets for development⁣

🤔Yesterday I caught myself preparing 100+ icons for an hour or so. And that happened not for a first time. So I thought: There must be a way more efficient way!⁣

🤒Here is the problem:⁣
You have 100 icons, all of them in the different states, colors and sizes (which makes it 500+ icons). When you export them you have 2 options:⁣

📍Export all by folders (from sketch symbols system). But then it really takes a lot of time to re-organise and drop everything to the right folders. I used to follow this logic:⁣
1_Icons / 1_Top bar / Search / White / 24px⁣

📍Another way: export all the icons to Zeplin(Avocode). But It appeared I did it the wrong way. I used to export each icon from Symbols separately which ended up in a huge pile of icons that are hard to find.⁣

👉The easy solution to this (as many of you suggested) is to:⁣
Prepare a big canva of all icons sliced with padding. And export only☝️ huge artboard to Zeplin. If it visually makes sense - then developer wouldn’t find it hard to find needed icon. It’s even better if developer knows how to export from the Sketch file⁣

📍Alternatively, you can also write a script to download and sort the icons with a certain logic that follow you. But renaming the folders will stay anyway⁣

❓Do you know any other efficient way to export assets? Please, let me know in the comments!⁣

💪What are weekends for?⁣

✈️Just a while ago I used to use weekends to travel and rewind. Now, it feels to me like I succumbed to the charms and romanticism created by Travel market. And It was amazing.⁣
However, I grew up and realized that I want to create my own «Travel market charm» and it takes a lot of time and energy to complete. So it’s been a while since I’m using weekends to enjoy the travel romanticism⁣

⬇️ Right now I use weekends as follows⁣

🅰️ Saturday to get distracted from routine:⁣
___________⁣
Watching movies, reading books, going for a picnic or just walk the whole day long⁣

🅱️ Sunday: ⁣
___________⁣
📍Heading to the office and prepare (refill) all the resources needed for the upcoming week:⁣
Setting up the plans in trello (personal and for my startup)⁣
📍Listening to the podcasts (videos) from the very rational and strategical thinkers.⁣
Reading psychology / business literature⁣
📍Drafting a new article⁣
📍Drafting the new IG posts and photos⁣
📍Complete few designs that I didn’t manage during the week (but I REAllY try to limit design hours on weekends)⁣
📍Arrange side projects like (design course and freelance projects)⁣

💁‍♀️I do miss times when I was traveling…However, my guts telling me that what I do right now is way more impactful and important.⁣
❓How are your usual weekends running?⁣

I’m so FxxKIN’ glad to see you again @ashfoto ‼️
We had a exciting moment with☕️&🚬
Thanx my friend🤘💀

😍Why I’m in love with IGTV
Here are 3 IGTV applications I’m seeing already⁣⁣
⁣⁣.
.
.
♦️Document journey⁣⁣
———⁣⁣
So this conflict between «Creating a Perfect content» and just «Documenting a journey» without being stressed out about a video quality was a Huge painpoint for me (and I believe for many creators).⁣⁣
🔄For a while now I decided to exchange the video blogging for Highlights and moments in IG. However - this story was incomplete (without context) and 15sec - was definitely an annoying thing when you tell a story.⁣⁣
💪I saw a HUGE potential for all creative entrepreneurs who want to share their story, without a bittersweet regret of fast and dirty content. YouTube is going to stay for sure for professional creators and filmographies. I see that YouTube transitions into the next «Netflix» or Movie hub (even TV), but IGTV is here to save us from abyss called «Eventually, I didn’t find enough time to document my journey»⁣⁣
⁣⁣
⁣⁣
♦️From UX point of view:⁣⁣
———⁣⁣
I kinda see and emerge between Podcasts and YouTube in IGTV. It’s first time ever that I can ride a bus and listen to someone talking. On the go. Without caring about beautiful Full HD picture. Without selecting a channel I want to listen.⁣⁣
📷For those who used to talk on the camera - it’s must be a blessing as there was so much effort put into the lighting and background prep, but the fact that we don’t watch youtube videos, but rather leave bloggers to talk on the bg - was really devaluating the effort. Now, there is no need to care about «Lighting». Just grab a phone and Talk!⁣⁣
⁣⁣
⁣⁣
♦️IGTV is long-awaited⁣⁣
———⁣⁣
Did you notice? It’s a first time ever that IG launches a new thing and no-one hates it. This came as a surprising fact to me. Remember IG redesign? Or IG Stories…people hated it so loudly.⁣⁣
⏱Now everyone adores stories…but it took a while to accept them. With IGTV - it feels like something that we all needed for a while!⁣⁣
I’m super excited to start vlogging and shooting design talks. Already!⁣⁣
