🙌 D A Y 2 7 🙌 #bpsewvember Success. This #highlandswrapdress dress by @indie_sew was my most recent and favorite successful sew. Everything from the ikat I picked out for it, to the mitered corners on the skirt slits and all the little details that came together to make this dress work. And even better than that, is i got to sew it up with Allie the patternmaker herself — a truly special experience I will not soon forget ❤️
⚪️ D A Y 1 6 ⚪️ #bpsewvember Stash Pride! Going a little bit out of order here (shorter days means less natural light for fabric photos!) but I just had to show you my fabric babies which I am of course so proud of. I hoarded a LOT of fabric while working at Spoonflower, and inherited a lot of vintage fabric from my grand and great grandmothers so I’ve been quite blessed with a plentiful stash. Over the years I’ve given away a ton of it, so now all that’s left are the fabrics I really, really love. ❤️ the wicker basket holds all of my scrappies 😬
✂️D A Y 1 4✂️ #bpsewvember Tricky. I’ve sewn two @colettepatterns Asters, and both times the neckline hasn’t come out quite right or doesn’t quite lay flat. ☹️ oh and entirely unrelated but still tricky — invisible zippers! I’ve never been able to master them.
Can you tell I’m just a little bit ~*ECSTATIC*~ to be on set sewing with THE @suzyquilts?! Go and check out her brand new @becraftsy class “Fabric Play: Sewing Mojo Minis” now! It’s a study on color, texture, composition, design, and how they all come together to create something wonderful. She really is one of the most delightful, funny, creative humans — you will love learning from her!
Catching up. Day 8: Winter. This is my favorite pic of me-made winter wear. The one and only time I traced a pattern from Burda magazine! Faux shearling vest. In reality, I mostly layer this under a wool coat for those days when it's 10 F out. #bpsewvember#bouldersews#denversews#coloradosews#sewcialists
