Groundstory is seeking #volunteer #researchers to help identify the roots, ripple effects, and responses to growing #gentrification, urban #densification, social-spatial #displacement, loss of #affordablehousing, increasing income #inequality, and other challenges facing contemporary, urban cultures in the Greater #Toronto and #Hamilton Area. Volunteer researchers will contribute to an international literature review, exploring the roles and perceptions of the arts and other vulnerable, low-income communities in either instigating and/or being impacted by gentrification and neighbourhood change.
This opportunity is flexible to the interests and availability of the volunteer. The volunteer will have the opportunity to investigate and document learnings in topics such as cultural, economic and municipal policy, creative placemaking, income inequality, affordable housing, and more. An annotated bibliography will summarize key themes/lessons identified from the review to help direct our research in terms of relevance and priority. A draft bibliography is currently available online as an open source Zotero archive. Interested parties should send their CV and a short letter of interest to firstname.lastname@example.org. This call is open until December 2018. Image by Agilo Arts.
