This chest support t-bar row has been my primary "horizontal" pulling movement for this mesocycle. It will do the job for now in lieu of the Pendlay Row. I'd like to get back that movement soon, but after using it for so long I think so time off will help re-sensitize my body for growth once I come back to it.
I think one of the key technique flaws I see on a regular basis in this movement is the user using their lumbar to pull themselves back. This result in something similar to a shrug as opposed to a row. Keep your chest planted on the bench and pull straight back with the elbows. People will complains that they can't feel their back working because they can't see it. I often think that not "feeling" ones back is more due to poor technique and using far too much weight.
Chest planted. Elbows back. Increase volume over time. Build a great back.
