To help my body reset a little bit from the few indulgences & different diet I enjoyed while in Brussels, I have embarked on another mini-cleanse...

It's easy for me to do these detoxes often because they do not deprive me in any way. On the contrary, I focus on all the good I add to crowd out the not-so-nutritious foods. For me mainly that means: no sugars πŸ™…πŸ½, taking a break from dairy foods πŸ§€ & bread 🍞!

{STORY TIME} A few yrs ago, I decided to take this matter into my own hands and to take a serious look at my inner well-being. I was moving my body regularly and eating pretty good too; yet I was frequently feeling so down, envious, demotivated and quite pessimistic about my life

I didn't even realize how negative I was... It was just my "default" state of being. I would start conversations with everything that was going wrong in my life...

No wonder I always found myself feeling so miserable πŸ™„

Thankfully it all changed one cold and dark winter night while I was still living in Montreal πŸŒ¨β˜ƒπŸŒ¬

One specific book started my whole journey into positivity & personal self-development. It took a LOT of self-introspection & inner work to change me & Im definitely not completely out of the woods, yet πŸ˜…

But today, I genuinely love my life! Is it perfect? Heck no! But my mindset and perspective about this adventure we call life has completely changed 😌✨

Question for you: do you pay attention to how you feel after eating? Do you know which foods make you feel your best?
.
My relationship with food has always been pretty intense because I've always LOVED to it. However, it wasn't until I dove into Holistic Nutrition that I started to pay more attention to not only what I chose to eat, but most importantly how my body felt afterwards...
.
That's when I realized that certain foods didn't make me feel so great. Some foods make me feel lethargic, bloated, constipated, uncomfortable in my clothes or in my body 😣
.
And so I tried eliminating them completely from my life for a while by going vegan strictly for 2 years. It helped a LOT & I discovered a whole new way of feeling & being in my body
.
It was ah-mazing. Until it wasn't anymore 😟. Not because eating plant-based was detrimental to my body, but because I was way too strict & eating became a source of stress & frustration for me...
.
So, I decided to gently start adding certain foods back into my diet & see how my body felt. And guess what? I learned that in moderation & with certain foods (not all), I was totally a okay! My body & health were still fine! Why? Because I remained aligned with my body's needs & continued to feed it mainly highly nutritious & wholesome foods πŸ’ͺ🏽
.
It took time to figure out the right balance for myself but it was all worth it because today I know what works for my body & what doesn't. I get to enjoy tasting different cuisines when I travel, my nonna's dishes when I visit her or having a gelato if I feel like it; without stress or guilt 😌
.
