Public Service Announcement from Sensei Steve: I have noticed a lot recently in classes that many students are sitting in what is known as the "W-sit position". This position is very comfortable for children becuase it feels stable and safe. This position can lead to long term damaging effects in the hips and postural and coordination issues. When I see it in class I correct it but it also needs to be reinforced at home. If you see your child sitting like this please correct them. They will thank you for it later! I love the energy of beginning a new project! This morning in the studio I worked on monoprinting sheer fabric with acrylic paints for the background of a new textile collage. It’s just pieces now… but I can see the finished project in my head!
