Finally putting these Umax Strength dumbbells to use! I scored this pair of 70s off of Facebook Marketplace for $60. They seem pretty solid and were clearly a steal.

Today was bench day and it was my first time using solely dumbbells in quite a while. I’m moving into a bit of a hypertrophy phase where my primary mover will still focus on strength (not today since it was just dumbbells) and thereafter will be volume based work mostly around RPE 7-8. The program has shortened rest periods since the intensity is decreased. I drafted the program and today’s session is below.

1️⃣Bench: 5x15 w/ 70s
2️⃣Legs up bench: 3x10
Superset w/ T-Bar rows
3️⃣Bench finisher 3x8 each
3 second dumbbell negatives
Neutral grip dumbbell press
4️⃣Dumbbell Rows 3x10
Superset w/ Band Flys from rack
5️⃣Back/Bicep Finisher: 3 rounds
Neutral grip pull ups: 12 reps
Hammer curls: 8 reps

I read that it takes 21 days to create a new habit. 3 weeks to permanently transform yourself. And today I am completing day 21 of my new habit.

Things are changing all around my life for the better. Both inside and outside of my training leading up to my next @uspapower competition.

I feel different. More present. More aware of what's going on and able to make the right decision when it comes to a very important choice. That connection also has a direct relationship with training.

BIG SEXY does Powerlifting Specific training and on today's menu was to work up to a solid Touch and Go single and then we backed down for some fatigue work.

4 weeks out for the @uspapower PA State Championships and a brand new reinvented @p10_ny with a surplus of new goodies. New rack is great and I can set up better for supplemental work.

Hit an overload Reverse Band Bench with mini blue bands. Definitely a change from the thicker ones. At lockout was 100% of the weight to acclimate my CNS, muscles and brain to get used to some HEAVY weight in my hands come meet day.

Training was:
TNG Bench 330x3x2
Rev Band 405x2x1
Rev Band 410x1

Who’s tried @bangenergy ?? Vitamin Shoppe had a BOGO 50% off plus another 20% off so I couldn’t pass up the deal. First try last night with their sour heads flavor before my workout and it tasted pretty good and was a decent pick me up .

First time squatting in about 5 weeks. Ditched my adipowers for flats, kept the weight very light and focused on form. No pain and everything moved fine, just going to take it slow.

My right knee was hurting just to walk up and down stairs and I found out it was my left ankles lack of mobility causing the issue. Due to my limited mobility every squat, step, time on the ice, etc loads my right side more. When wearing my adipowers it overloaded my right ankle and knee started to feel it as a result. Been working various mobility drills to get back to quality movement again.

If @stonybrookmlax put me in for the 4th quarter, we totally would have won the America East Championship in 2003.

If you competed at #botb4 this past weekend a lot of you MF’ers owe these guys and gals a thank you! Nobody asked them to but they instead choose to hang out in the warm up room and load plates for the lifters competing. A lot of new lifters walked in there and would call out a number and they would load it. But while i was in there I hear very few “thank you’s” thrown out.
