Have I jetted off to Italy, maybe the Amalfi Coast or Portofino? No, I’m just down the road from where I live in N Wales in Portmeirion. This enchanting and unique Italianate village designed and built by Sir Clough Williams-Ellis is on the estuary of the River Dwyryd, 2 miles south east of Porthmadog in N Wales just outside Snowdonia National Park. We have an annual pass, so we can pop in anytime we’re in the area, and after shopping in Porthmadog yesterday, that’s exactly what we did.....we spent an enjoyable couple of hours there walking about and doing the hillside “woodland climb”, which is where the 1st and last photo in this series of photos was taken. Have you ever been there? It’s such a pretty village and has been featured on TV many times, such as The Prisoner with Patrick McGoohan, Dr Who, Citizen Smith, Danger Man and Cold Feet.
