Do you ALWAYS WIN when your studio competes ?
If the answer is YES, then you are doing something wrong .
That’s right, winning 100% of the time means something is off .
Do your dances challenge you and push you out of your comfort zone, especially your solo?
Are you competing at the right level, at the right competition and with people who will push and challenge you ?
Are YOU , as a dancer, taking risks and challenging yourself ?
If you are always winning and you answered ‘NO’ to any of the above questions , take a moment and ask yourself WHY you compete ?
Is it to make yourself better or just to win some cheap hardware ?
If your studio or teacher is more interested in the awards you bring home to decorate their walls than they are with your growth and development as a dancer and human , GET OUT!
We all learn and grow so much from the losses, the almost wins and the straight up failures ! Without those disappointments, we can’t grow and we become petrified of risk and failure.
Every truly successful person in any field has failed more times than they have ever won, make sure your studio and teachers want you to win long term, and not just for a few years at dance competitions...
