Stripped Christmas gifts IS Christian love! Often people see images, make judgments and don't know the full story. While attending #Soulfest (which is a lovely Christian music festival in NH) one of the few things I found upsetting was one group's annual harassment of strippers at their places of employment - by bringing them uninvited packages of female hygiene products, promotional material decrying their activities, etc. So this year I went to gay strip club and took pics with guys to kick off my holiday season. After I finished my final holiday party last week I brought them each a frame with those pics. There should never be body shaming, dance shaming, choice of clothing shaming or anything else if you are truly Christian.
Christmas is not an excuse to use your vacation days to attack occupations you may not appreciate, especially if it might affect somebody's hard work for their own families or holiday needs.
These men were so happy to have Santa visit that they hugged me in ways that were heartfelt, not dirty. As I close out my holiday season as I started it, with strippers, I want to say thanks to Mardi Gras X Room for allowing this music loving DJ for expressing his dancer appreciation without buying drinks (long drive). It was an enjoyment doing something special for a group of people who I had never met and who had no idea that they were part of a minority group being bullied by Christians; using the story of Christ in such manner had perverted the true moral lessons of the holiday. I hope this might inspire others to make new friends while creatively finding ways to make people happy, help the local economy and appreciate all body types, even Santas.
