Sunday slowdown reflections from Teacher @tippisy. Something to inspire you for the next week! .
Growing older in the dance community is tricky. When most of your friends have gone on to dancing less or none at all, more often than not, I am met with the same sentiments when I invite them to try pole: "It's been too long, I don't think my 'lola/tita' bones can handle it." I felt the same way the first time I tried it at 26 (!!!), especially coming from a street background; 4 years later, sometimes I'd still feel anxious. What I love about pole though, is that literally, age is just a number. I meet ladies that are high school seniors to women who already have grandkids, from ones who used to or still dance to those who have never danced at all. It's such a welcoming sport and art form. And progression is valued in pole, which means you don't have to worry. If your body is not ready for a trick, we won't force you to do it.
So, come by the studio one time. It won't hurt to try. (Okay, maybe a little, like in between your thighs. 😐😅) And if this little diddy has got you ready to go some time
Soon, I'm teaching Pole Beginners at 10AM every Saturday at @polecatsmanila!!! #shamelessplug Have some bacon for breakfast and see you there! 😂😁✌️
