Wow, this just stopped me in my tracks. What about you?
@Regranned from @ellianagilbertphotography - It's really incredible how fast life moves, and how little choice you have in terms of accepting what it throws at you sometimes. Sometimes you make the choices, but even still, the consequences of those choices can come at you like a fast moving train and smash into you before you even have a moment to prepare. And then there are those events that happen without you choosing them. Those are even more jarring. Sometimes the consequences are the most incredible consequences you could ever have hoped for.... but even still, the adjustments, the transitions, the sacrifices, the re-calibration that has been required in order to make room for the changes, takes a huge toll. And you might not even realize it until you sit down and find some quiet in your mind.... enjoy a mug of tea or a glass of wine... let your eyes lose their focus gazing into a crackling fire.... or space out on a park bench. You might find that your entire life comes dumping on you like a giant rain cloud bursting right over your head. What will you feel? What sensations come to mind? For me... I suddenly think about the feel of peoples skin, hands, how they touch and soothe and nurture. I think about voices, raised, stressed, angry. I think about music, so much music prevalent in my life. I think about hair, and fur... playing with hair as a child, petting my childhood cats, and later, my dogs. I smell incense, and Middle Eastern and Slavic cooking. I see walls. Lots of walls. I also see sky, and bicycle spokes and dirt trails and riverbanks and hot muggy summer nights, and laughter. Life is a mess, isn't it? Which is why I love it when life feels like it makes sense... moments like these make sense.🔼🔼🔼🔼🔼🔼🔼🔼🔼🔼🔼 🔼tag #dadsinthewild to be featured! 🔽🔽🔽🔽🔽🔽🔽🔽🔽🔽🔽🔽
