❣🌹 R O S E M A L L O W🌹❣ Did you know there are over 200 species of Hibiscus? They come in many shapes and colours. In this post ill be featuring the species 𝘏𝘪𝘣𝘪𝘴𝘤𝘶𝘴 𝘳𝘰𝘴𝘢-𝘴𝘪𝘯𝘦𝘯𝘴𝘪𝘴, also known as Rose mallow, Hawaiian Hibiscus or Shoeblack plant. This species of tropical hibiscus grows vibrant red flowers. It attracts and is pollinated by insects and hummingbirds. It is the national flower of Malaysia and is used in Tahitian and Hawaiian culture. It is used for many different purposes such as decoration and making tea. Tea can be made from every part of this shrub. Tea from the roots have been used as a contraceptive especially in parts of Asia. Also the tea from the petals has been known to lower blood pressure. This plant has been used to treat a variety of diseases and heal wounds. Many studies show that the tea is non-toxic (in reasonable doses) therefore it safe to use for medicinal purposes. This beautiful shrub, however, is usually cultivated as a garden ornamental in the tropics.
