Portland Day 1
Successful Day 1 in this beautiful Paleo Utopian city. Today I turned 28 and celebrated about 1 whole year of living a Paleo/Whole30 life. 🎂 I had a hearty breakfast this morning after my workout. I wanted to start the day right with good food!
First stop was @pipsoriginal. I got one ldozen free donuts since it was my birthday. 🎉 I asked for a variety of flavors, and they delivered! Second stop was @purringtonscatlounge. 🐱☕️ Going to a Cat Cafe has been on my bucket list for years! Minneapolis has been trying to get one up and running, but it's no easy feat. I enjoyed an iced matcha almond milk latte while listening to cool tunes and petting the kitties that wanted to be pet.
Third stop was @voodoodoughnut. 🍩 Yes, donuts again, but I wanted to do all the kitschy Portland things, so I did! I enjoyed a Hibiscus donut full of non-paleo things, as well as the lack of guilt that came after it. 😊 Fourth stop was Paleo heaven a.k.a. @culturedcaveman. They had a mini Paleo grocery store in the restaurant as well as a bookshelf full of Paleo cookbooks & general Paleo knowledge books. This spot was WAY off the track from our little path, but well worth the trek! I got a salmon poke salad with a side of bacon wrapped dates. The entire menu was Paleo friendly. Truly a gem of a place. 💎 Fifth stop was @Somali mbucha. I didn't realize this was a self-service place instead of an actual kombucha taproom. So when I let my parents go to bed and I hit the town, I didn't realize I'd be hanging out in a taproom by myself. 🙃 It was still a neat little place that had tasty and unique tasting kombucha!
